Grammy-winning rapper Lil Wayne made a special visit to the Houston Astros on Tuesday, May 2, before taking the stage for a highly anticipated concert later that evening. The Louisiana-native stopped by the ballpark for a unique opportunity to connect with the World Series champions before their matchup against the San Francisco Giants.
“It meant the world to me,” Lil Wayne shared with excitement. “The love they showed me was unreal, and it felt like we’re all big fans of each other.”
During his visit, Lil Wayne met with Astros manager Dusty Baker and MLB legend Reggie Jackson, who now serves as a special adviser to team owner Jim Crane. “I pulled them both aside for a long conversation,” he said. “Having those moments with Mr. October and Dusty was incredible."
As a token of appreciation, Lil Wayne received a jersey signed by several Astros players, which he proudly plans to hang in his personal collection. When asked about how the experience ranked in his life, he humbly responded, “I don’t like to rank things, but this is definitely up there.”
The unforgettable visit added a special touch to his Houston stop and further deepened his connection with the city's sports culture ahead of his performance.
